Experience. Fairness. Accountability.
Justice should be fair, consistent, and rooted in experience.
The courtroom is not a place for learning on the job, it requires knowledge of the law, sound judgment, and an understanding of the people it serves. That is why I am running: to bring fairness, accountability, and integrity to
Criminal District Court 1.

With more than 21 years of legal experience in Dallas County, including nearly 11 years as a public defender and extensive work in felony courts, I am prepared to serve with balance, professionalism, and respect for due process. Justice works best when it is applied equally, thoughtfully, and with an understanding of real-life circumstances.

Because when liberty, safety, and fairness are at stake, experience matters.

Why I Stand Up
Key Principles
Justice should be fair, accessible, and grounded in real understanding. With over 21 years of legal experience in Dallas County, I bring both professional expertise and lived perspective to the bench, ensuring that every case is handled with balance, respect, and careful consideration.
Compassion
Seeing People, Not Case Numbers
I understand that individuals who come before the court are more than files or statistics. My experience as a public defender and my personal life experiences give me empathy for both victims and defendants. Compassion begins with conversation, recognizing mental health needs, financial realities, and individual circumstances while still upholding the law.
Equality
Fairness in Every Courtroom
Every person deserves dignity and equal treatment under the law. I am committed to ensuring due process and fairness for all, regardless of background, resources, or circumstances. Justice must be consistent, unbiased, and rooted in accountability.
Community
Rooted in Dallas County
As a Dallas County native raised in Oak Cliff my connection to this community is personal. My professional career, spanning public service, private practice, and felony courtrooms, has given me firsthand knowledge of the needs and challenges facing our county. Those ties matter on the bench.
Transparency
Integrity and Judicial Responsibility
Trust in the judicial system requires openness, respect, and professionalism. I am committed to maintaining a neutral, composed courtroom where decisions are grounded in law, discretion is exercised responsibly, and all parties are treated with respect.
